The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Examination annually. The National Testing Agency (NTA) was set up by the Ministry of Education (MoE), formerly known as the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NTA is an autonomous, independent, and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting transparent, efficient, and international standard tests. NEET is the uniform and common NEET UG examination for admission to UG medical education in all medical institutions.
Likewise, according to Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act 2020, there shall be a common NEET (UG) examination for admission to undergraduate courses for each of the disciplines i.e. BUMS, BAMS, and BSMS courses. This exam is also applicable to admission to the BHMS course, which was mentioned in the National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020.
