Aim: Under this scheme, the ministry aims to address the declining child sex ratio and sex-selective abortion.
Current Scenario: According to the Census 2011, there are 918 girls for every 1,000 boys.

Note: A parent or legal guardian of the girl child can not open multiple accounts for one girl child, they can open only one account for one girl child.

Sukanya Samriddhi Account: Interest Rate
Investment Amount: Rs.250 (Minimum) up to Rs.1.5 lakh p.a.(Maximum)
