The exam recruits 12th pass candidates for the following Group C clerical and data entry posts, which offer job security, fixed working hours, and regular government allowances.
Candidates must fulfil the following conditions prescribed in the official notification to be considered eligible.
A candidate applying for SSC CHSL 2026 must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries intending to settle permanently in India.
Age is calculated as on 1 August 2026, as mentioned in the official notification.

The fee can be paid online using UPI, net banking, debit card or credit card as per the instructions in the notification. The answer key challenge fee has been reduced to ₹50 per question this year.
