Sheer (adj.)

Meaning- used to emphasize the size, degree or amount of something (निरा)

Synonym- Complete, Unmitigated, Total

Antonym- Moderate, Gradual

Example- The sheer number of questions overwhelmed her.

Retract (verb)

Meaning- to say that something you have said earlier is not true or correct or that you did not mean it (वापस लेना)

Synonym- Recant, Withdraw, Renounce

Antonym- Accept, Acknowledge, Admit

Example- The pilot retracted the plane's landing gear.

Vexatious (adj.)

Meaning- making you feel upset or annoyed (खिझाऊ)

Synonym- Annoying, Bothersome, Irritating

Antonym- Pleasing, Assisting, Helpful

Example- The amendment opens the door to vexatious litigation.

Pose (verb)

Meaning- to create a threat, problem, etc. that has to be dealt with (भंगिमा)

Synonym- Attitude, Submit

Antonym- Withhold, Refrain

Example- This curiosity should make you pose some questions naturally.

Evade (verb)

Meaning- to escape from somebody/something or avoid meeting somebody (बच निकलना)

Synonym- Dodge, Elude, Escape, Avoid

Antonym- Confront, Face, Encounter, Meet

Example- The criminals have so far managed to evade the police.

Crippling (adj.)

Meaning- seriously damaging or harming somebody/something (गंभीर)

Synonym- Ruinous, Disable, Harmful, Damaging
