On December 22, 2021, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Mansukh Mandaviya launched Fit India Sunday on Cycle at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium New Delhi. It is a part of the ‘Fit India Cycling Drive’ which started in the week and aims at encouraging the population to go cycling for good health and the environment’s sake. More than 500 participants including CRPF and ITBP personnel, young gymnasts and local cycling club took part in the event, former WWE star Shanky Singh came in support of the event. This year Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and MY Bharat are organizing the campaign at the same time across over 1100 places all over the country. The BYCS India Foundation is also involved in ensuring that cycling is easily achievable across more than fifty cities championing cycling as a lifestyle and means of transport. The objective of this effort is the development of cycling culture in the context of India enhancing health among the populace and environmental management.

This is one of the several steps which came under the banner of the newly introduced ‘Fit India Cycling Drive’ programme this week only.

Another additional promotion to the event was celebrity endorsement in the form of former WWE star Shanky Singh.
The ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ event is being conducted simultaneously at more than 1,100 places across the country.
The participants of the study when informed about the initiative as a means to make locker rooms safer for users, shared their positive attitude towards the program including the CRPF and ITBP. The event in addition to focusing on health through cycling also calls for environmental conservation.
The ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ event is in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and MY Bharat.
It is being conducted at different regional SAIs, NCOEs & KICs across the country including some of the circulating campuses.
The organisation is viewed as part of the drive to create a cycling nation in India. The BYCS India foundation is still aggressively pursuing to make bicycle accessible in more than 50 cities in India and will ensure that people embraces cycling as a lifestyle and fitness and sustainable transport solution.
