1. 14^th edition of World Spice Congress (WSC) organized in Mumbai

• The 14th edition of the World Spice Congress (WSC) is being organized at Vashi in Navi Mumbai from 15-17 September 2023.
• The 14th edition of the World Spice Congress (WSC) theme is 'VISION 2030: S-P-I-C-E-S’.
• In the theme, S-P-I-C-E-S refers to Sustainability, Productivity, Innovation, Collaboration, Excellence and Safety.
• Organised by: Spices Board India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and various trade bodies and export forums
• About Spices Board of India:
  • This board was constituted on 26th February 1987.
  • It was set up under the Spices Board Act 1986.
  • This body was set up after the merger of the Cardamom Board (1968) and the Spices Export Promotion Council (1960).
  • This body comes under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
  • This body is also responsible for the export promotion of the 52 scheduled spices and the development of Cardamom (Small & Large).

2. National Engineer's Day 2023: 15^th September

• The National Engineer's Day 2023 is observed annually on 15th September 2023.
• The theme for 2023 National Engineer's Day is ‘Engineering for a Sustainable Future’.
• This day is observed on the birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who is also known as the Father of Engineering in India.
• A National Engineer’s Day was also observed in Sri Lanka and Tanzania on September 15.
• He was also been awarded India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna in 1955.

3. Srinivasan K. Swamy appointed as Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations

• The board of directors of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has unanimously elected Srinivasan K. Swamy as the new Chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2023-2024.
• Presently, he is serving as a Chairman of the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations.
• Prior to this role, he was also worked as a President / Chairman of the International Advertising Association (IAA), IAA India Chapter, and many other media organization.
• While Riyad Mathew (Chief Associate Editor and Director of Malayala Manorama) has been unanimously elected Deputy Chairman of the Bureau for 2023-2024.

4. India becomes 13th nation to issue OIML certificates

• The Union Consumer Affairs Ministry has confirmed that India has become the 13th nation to issue International Organisation of Legal Metrology (OIML) certificates.
• With this India has joined 12 other nations, which are Australia, Switzerland, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, France, UK, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden and Slovakia.
• About OMIL:
  • The International Organisation of Legal Metrology (OIML) is an Intergovernmental organization.
  • It was established in 1955.
  • India joined this institution in 1956 as a member.
  • Presently, it is a group of 63 Member States and 64 Corresponding Members.
  • OIML certificate is an internationally accepted certificate for selling weights & and measures anywhere in the world.

5. DAC approved the nine capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 45,000 crore

• In September 2023, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), headed under the chairmanship of Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh approved the acquisition of nine acquisition proposals worth Rs 45,000 crore.
• All these acquisitions will be made within India under the Make in India campaign.
• It will boost the Indian defence Industry towards achieving the goal of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
• The DAC accorded the AoN for procurement of -
  • Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicles and Integrated Surveillance and Targeting System
  • High Mobility Vehicle Gun Towing Vehicles for swift mobilisation and deployment of Artillery Guns and Radars
  • Next Generation Survey Vessels
  • Dhruvastra Short Range Air-to-Surface Missile
  • 12 Su-30 MKI Aircraft

• विश्व मसाला कांग्रेस (डब्ल्यूएससी) का 14वां संस्करण 15-17 सितंबर 2023 तक नवी मुंबई के वाशी में आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

• विश्व मसाला कांग्रेस  (WSC) के 14वें संस्करण की थीम 'विज़न 2030: S-P-I-C-E-S' है।

• विषय में, S-P-I-C-E-S स्थिरता, उत्पादकता, नवाचार, सहयोग, उत्कृष्टता और सुरक्षा को संदर्भित करता है।

• भारतीय मसाला बोर्ड के बारे में:
  • इस बोर्ड का गठन 26 फरवरी 1987 को किया गया था।
  • इसकी स्थापना मसाला बोर्ड अधिनियम 1986 के तहत की गई थी।
  • इस निकाय की स्थापना इलायची बोर्ड (1968) और मसाला निर्यात संवर्धन परिषद (1960) के विलय के बाद की गई थी।

2. राष्ट्रीय अभियंता दिवस 2023: 15 सितंबर

• राष्ट्रीय अभियंता दिवस 2023 प्रतिवर्ष 15 सितंबर 2023 को मनाया जाता है।
• 2023 राष्ट्रीय इंजीनियर दिवस का विषय 'Engineering for a Sustainable Future' है।
• यह दिन मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैया की जयंती पर मनाया जाता है, जिन्हें भारत में इंजीनियरिंग के जनक के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
• 15 सितंबर को श्रीलंका और तंजानिया में भी राष्ट्रीय अभियंता दिवस मनाया गया।
• उन्हें 1955 में भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान, भारत रत्न से भी सम्मानित किया गया था।

3. श्रीनिवासन के. स्वामी को ऑडिट ब्यूरो ऑफ सर्कुलेशन का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया

• ऑडिट ब्यूरो ऑफ सर्कुलेशन (एबीसी) के निदेशक मंडल ने सर्वसम्मति से श्रीनिवासन के. स्वामी को 2023-2024 के लिए ऑडिट ब्यूरो ऑफ सर्कुलेशन (एबीसी) का नया अध्यक्ष चुना है।
• वर्तमान में, वह एशियन फेडरेशन ऑफ एडवरटाइजिंग एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।
• इस भूमिका से पहले, उन्होंने इंटरनेशनल एडवरटाइजिंग एसोसिएशन (IAA), IAA इंडिया चैप्टर और कई अन्य मीडिया संगठनों के अध्यक्ष/अध्यक्ष के रूप में भी काम किया था।

4. भारत ओआईएमएल प्रमाणपत्र जारी करने वाला 13वां देश बन गया

• केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्रालय ने पुष्टि की है कि भारत इंटरनेशनल ऑर्गनाइजेशन ऑफ लीगल मेट्रोलॉजी (ओआईएमएल) प्रमाणपत्र जारी करने वाला 13वां देश बन गया है।
• इसके साथ ही भारत 12 अन्य देशों में शामिल हो गया है, जो ऑस्ट्रेलिया, स्विट्जरलैंड, चीन, चेक गणराज्य, जर्मनी, डेनमार्क, फ्रांस, ब्रिटेन, जापान, नीदरलैंड, स्वीडन और स्लोवाकिया हैं।
• ओएमआईएल (OIML) के बारे में:

• इंटरनेशनल ऑर्गनाइजेशन ऑफ लीगल मेट्रोलॉजी (OIML) एक अंतरसरकारी संगठन है।
• इसकी स्थापना 1955 में हुई थी।
• भारत 1956 में इस संस्था में सदस्य के रूप में शामिल हुआ।

5. DAC ने 45,000 करोड़ रुपये के नौ पूंजी अधिग्रहण प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी दी

• सितंबर 2023 में, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह की अध्यक्षता में रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद (DAC) ने 45,000 करोड़ रुपये के नौ अधिग्रहण प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी दी।
• ये सभी अधिग्रहण मेक इन इंडिया अभियान के तहत भारत के भीतर ही किए जाएंगे।
• यह भारतीय रक्षा उद्योग को 'आत्मनिर्भर भारत' के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने की दिशा में बढ़ावा देगा।
• डीएसी (DAC) ने निम्नलिखित की खरीद के लिए एओएन (AoN) प्रदान किया-
