There are two levels of the REET exam: Level 1 and Level 2. Teachers teaching classes 1 to 5 appear for the REET Level 1 test, whereas upper primary teachers, teaching classes 6 to 8, take up the REET Level 2 exam. The elementary and secondary levels are dealt with at REET Level 1 and Level 2, respectively. The common foundation at both levels consists of child development and pedagogy, including knowledge of child growth, theories of learning and efficient teaching techniques. Level 2 leads to either Social Science or Science and Mathematics while Level 1 further leads to areas like Language Hindi and English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. The specific scientific or social science concepts in Level 2 will be based on the chosen area.

REET Syllabus 2024 for Level 1

REET Level 1 Syllabus of Child Development & Pedagogy

Environmental Studies Syllabus for REET Level 1

• Clothes and Habitats: Clothes for different seasons; maintenance of clothes at home; handloom and power loom; habitats of living beings, various types of houses; cleanliness of houses and neighboring.
• Transport and Communication – Means of transport and communication; Rules for pedestrian and transport, Traffic Symbols, Effects of means of communication on the lifestyle.
• Personal Hygiene – External parts of our body and their cleanliness; general information about the internal parts of the body; Balanced diet and its importance; Common diseases (gastroenteritis, amoebiosis, methemoglobin, anemia, fluorosis, malaria, dengue).
• The earth and Space – Our Solar system, Indian Astronauts.
• Mountaineering – Equipment, Problems, Main Women Mountaineers of India.
• Concept and scope of Environment Studies.

REET Syllabus 2024 for Level 2

REET Level 2 Syllabus shall be based on five subjects, namely Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. The detailed REET Level 2 syllabus is provided below.
