The pattern captures regional variations in candidate performance and participation and illustrates the requirement for variation in how candidates go about preparing for exams in high-cutoff regions.

SSC MTS SC cutoffs 2024-25

The SC category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 70 121.96
Delhi HCG 7 133.93
Jaipur HCG 70 121.18
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 413 112.20

Hyderabad HCG 434 104.48
Chennai (Customs) HCU 147 104.44

The range of SC category cutoff is from the lowest Hyderabad (104.48) to the highest Delhi (133.93). In particular, Kolkata (CGST) and Vadodara emerge with the largest number of candidates (413 and 581 respectively) suggesting high competition. But, regions like Delhi and Jaipur have a much lesser number of candidates and higher cutoffs. It appears that the more candidates there are in a region, the easier it is to make it, which makes it all the more important to prepare locally.

SSC MTS ST cutoffs 2024-25

The ST category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 14 122.14

Chennai (Customs) HCU 70 94.98

According to the above table, for the ST category cutoffs vary from the top Delhi (128.16) to Chennai (94.98). CGST has the largest candidate pools in Kolkata (46), and Vadodara (44), and the smallest in Delhi (7) and Jaipur (35). The participation and competition of states across these trends are far apart. Regions with fewer candidates are the high-cutoff ones that need to be focused on, and larger regions generally offer slightly more opportunities as the cutoffs are lower.

SSC MTS ESM cutoffs 2024-25

The ESM category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 56 90.18
Delhi HCG 7 110.60
Jaipur HCG 49 84.99
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 35 84.34
Kolkata (Customs) HCU 91 75.94

Hyderabad HCG 238 62.24
Chennai (Customs) HCU 105 66.54

According to the above table, Delhi stood at the top with 110.60, while Vadodara had the lowest cutoff (57.41) in the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) category. Among the cities, Vadodara and Hyderabad have the largest pools of candidates (385 and 238, respectively), followed by much smaller numbers in Delhi and Chandigarh. The differences between regions indicate that candidates should concentrate on areas where they have a statistical edge while also getting ready for stiff competition in high-cutoff areas.

SSC MTS OH cutoffs 2024-25

The OH category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 7 122.72
Delhi HCG 7 119.59
Jaipur HCG 7 120.64
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 35 108.46
Kolkata (Customs) HCU 7 111.53
Bhopal HCG 7 116.62
Vadodara HCG 56 102.08
Hyderabad HCG 35 99.34
Chennai (Customs) HCU 14 98.26

According to the above table, the OH category has cutoffs ranging from Chandigarh's highest (122.72) and Hyderabad's lowest (99.34). There are huge variations in the number of candidates, with Vadodara (56) and Hyderabad (35) fielding the most candidates. Delhi, Jaipur, and Kolkata (Customs) have only 7 candidates each. These discrepancies also reveal competition concentration, in which fewer candidates compete for higher cutoffs because there are fewer positions available.

SSC MTS HH cutoffs 2024-25

The HH category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 7 108.89
Delhi HCG 7 107.26
Jaipur HCG 7 107.71
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 42 86.37
Kolkata (Customs) HCU 7 103.96
Bhopal HCG 28 77.90
Vadodara HCG 49 69.61
Hyderabad HCG 35 65.45
Chennai (Customs) HCU 14 63.37

According to the above table, the range of HH category cutoffs is wide ranging from 108.89 (Chandigarh) to 63.37 (Chennai). But Delhi and Jaipur have just 7 candidates each and Vadodara (49) and Hyderabad (35) share the top spot when it comes to candidate numbers. As smaller regions may have higher cutoffs due to competitive pressures than larger regions, it seems a smaller pool provides more opportunities (at relatively lower scores) than more opportunities (at increasingly higher scores).

SSC MTS OBC cutoffs 2024-25

The OBC category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 196 124.82
Delhi HCG 14 137.47
Jaipur HCG 147 124.77
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 77 119.83
Kolkata (Customs) HCU 154 118.61
Bhopal HCG 329 118.98
Vadodara HCG 1036 111.60
Hyderabad HCG 609 110.69
Chennai (Customs) HCU 259 110.70

According to the above table, a trend is seen in OBC category cutoffs where Delhi, the highest (137.47), and Vadodara, the lowest (111.60), score very high marks. The largest candidate pool is Vadodara (1036) and Hyderabad (609). In contrast, candidate numbers are smaller but the cutoff is higher in regions like Delhi and Kolkata (CGST) which means there is a need to concentrate on high-demand regions to stand better chances in this competitive category.

SSC MTS OTH cutoffs 2024-25

The OTH category cutoffs for SSC MTS exams across several regions is analysed in the below table;

Region Post Candidates Available Session-II Marks
Chandigarh HCG 14 115.93
Jaipur HCG 7 117.71
Kolkata (CGST) HCG 21 101.01
Kolkata (Customs) HCU 7 94.93
Bhopal HCG 14 104.57
Vadodara HCG 63 70.41
Hyderabad HCG 28 63.54

According to the above table, OTH category has diverse performance with the highest cutoff in Jaipur (117.71) and Hyderabad lowest (63.54). Candidates are drawn from larger regions like Vadodara (63) and Hyderabad (28), with regions like Kolkata (Customs) and Jaipur having fewer participants. These trends highlight the difficulties in competition in smaller regions and the prospects in regions that have larger candidate numbers but correspondingly lower cutoffs.
